that Modi was treading the same path as theirs.

Pakistan’s Maritime Security Agency (PMSA)
arrests five Indian fishermen
29th January 2010 |
Pakistan’s Maritime Security Agency has apprehended five Indian
fishermen along with their boat for allegedly fishing illegally in the country's
waters. India and Pakistan arrest dozens of fishermen every year for violating
each other's maritime boundaries and many of them languish in jail for years.
A total of 570 Indian nationals, including 510 fishermen, are currently in
Pakistani jails, according to information recently provided to parliament. A
total of 785 fishermen are among 848 Pakistanis currently being held in Indian
prisons.
Islamabad proposed the revival of the Judicial Committee on Prisoners, which has
not met since the Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008, when it freed 100
Indian fishermen last month.
It seems that Pakistan Marine Security Agency has tendency of
kidnapping fishermen every time when there is some VIP visit scheduled or
major national function organized in Porbandar, the coastal town on Gujarat
coast. Last year Pakistan kidnapped fishing boat when President of India
Pratibha Devi Patil was visiting Porbandar. Same happened when Rahul Gandhi was
visiting Porbandar. Pakistan kidnapped fishing boat even when Navy week was
being celebrated. Now this year Pakistan has again kidnapped the boat from
Porbandar exactly a day before the 30th January when Gandhi Nirvan Divas
functions are scheduled to be held at Porbandar in presence of BJP's national
President Nitin Gadkari, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Governor Dr.
Kamla. |

of the fishermen and fishing boat owners pertain to release of fishermen
languishing in Pakistani jails for long as well as the release of their boats.

fishermen's representatives and boat owners from across the country.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Fisheries department will soon be
radically overhauling the registration process of the fishing vessels. The new
